Veterans Services

Veteran Services

The Chelmsford Veterans Services office administers a State/Town public assistance program in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services  under Chapter 115 of the Massachusetts General Law . We provide short term, temporary, and financial assistance to eligible veterans and their families. We assist eligible veterans using a monthly grant and some medical coverage.

All individuals, regardless of discharge status, time in the service, branch of service, etc. can utilize this office for questions and concerns related to veterans' benefits, both state and federal. Please use the appropriate links on this webpage to get information on a variety of services, local organizations and frequently asked questions.

Budget

The budget standards are determined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Veterans Service. The state reimburses Chelmsford for 75% of authorized benefits distributed. We process applications for the state veterans bonus and annuity benefits. We assist any Chelmsford Veteran with Federal VA benefits: service–connected disability compensation, non-service-connected pension, and health care enrollment.
