Newsflash (55)

The Chelmsford Health Department’s Youth First Aid & CPR Training is a hands-on, engaging course designed specifically for teens ages 12–18 who want to learn real-world lifesaving skills.

During this interactive training, participants will learn how to recognize emergencies, respond quickly, and provide critical care until professional help arrives. The course covers CPR for adults, children, and infants, proper chest compressions and rescue breaths, how to respond to choking, AED basics, opioid overdose response, and essential first aid skills.

Students who successfully complete the training will receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED First Aid Certificate, valid for two years and recognized nationwide. This certification is a valuable asset for babysitting, summer jobs, volunteer opportunities, school activities, and future employment.

Beyond certification, this class helps teens build confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills — empowering them to help friends, family members, teammates, and community members in emergency situations.
