Joy of Less is a free, ongoing decluttering workshop offered by the Chelmsford Health Department for individuals living with moderate to severe clutter. The program provides compassionate, respectful guidance in a structured and supportive group setting, helping participants begin and continue the decluttering process in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.
Starting Tuesday, February 10th, participants meet from 5:30–6:30 PM in Room LL06 at Chelmsford Town Hall. Sessions are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and are facilitated by Chelmsford Health Department staff Taryn Angel, MPH, and Darcy Beall, RN.
The workshop follows a supportive group format that emphasizes realistic goal-setting, shared discussion, and accountability. Each session includes practical decluttering tips, guided conversation, and simple at-home goals designed to encourage steady progress between meetings. The focus is on improving how a home functions over time—enhancing safety, comfort, and daily living—rather than achieving immediate or unrealistic results.
Local donation and disposal options are shared throughout the program to help participants take action and reduce barriers to letting go of items. By breaking decluttering into small steps and fostering shared support, Joy of Less helps participants build confidence, maintain momentum, and create lasting change beyond the workshop.
