The Chelmsford Senior Center Messenger is mailed monthly, free, to all senior citizens in town who request it, thanks to funding from the Friends of the Senior Center, Inc. Out of town subscriptions are $8. You can also get the newsletter emailed to you. For seniors with transportation needs within Chelmsford. Transportation to medical appointments within Chelmsford and into Lowell only, must be made a week ahead. Within town, $1.50 each way. Medical trips to Lowell or Westford, $2.50 each way. (10:30am-2pm.) All ride requests must be called in AT LEAST 2 business days prior to your appointment. You will receive a call back to let you know whether or not we can honor your request, based on availability.

Our goal is to help seniors remain safe and independent in their homes for as long as possible. Services available include:
- Meals on Wheels
- Social Services Coordination
- Handicap Placards
- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
- Fuel Assistance
This cost-effective program (for local area residents) allows the caregiver much needed personal time for themselves, out of the house, getting a break, while the Client receives supervision through activities, a light meal (if needed) and companionship. The program is managed by a Companion Coordinator with an experienced staff of Companions available to meet the needs of each client. Monday through Friday 11:30am- 12:30pm. Meet your friends and make new ones as you join us for a delicious and nutritious meal. The food is prepared and cooked at the Senior Center and served cafeteria style in our bright and sunny dining hall. Donation $3.00 for 60 and older. $5.00 for all under 60. Reservations should be made by 1pm the day before you plan to eat at the Center. Call 978-251-0533.
